Virginia Marie Abercrombie
March 9, 1927 – December 8, 2021
Virginia Marie Abercrombie, 94, of Lusby and formerly of Bowie passed away December 8, 2021. She was born March 9, 1927 in Baltimore to Joseph and Josephine (Kaloc) Schlosser. Virginia grew up in Baltimore and graduated from The Catholic High School of Baltimore. She married Roy Abercrombie on July 10, 1949 and they lived in many places while Roy was in the military. They settled in Bowie in 1975 and Virginia later moved to Lusby in 2011. Virginia was primarily a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bowie and volunteered as a foster grandparent for Anne Arundel County Public Schools, traveling to different schools and assisting children and teachers in the classroom. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidering, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Roy Edward Abercrombie. She is survived by her children Llyern Bartholomew of Millersville, Bruce Abercrombie and his wife Erlinda of the Philippines, Kevin Abercrombie and his wife Judith Marie of Palm Coast, FL, Nancy Gerdes and her husband Jerry of Huntingtown, Brian Abercrombie and his wife Margarite of Sebastian, FL and Catherine Sengstock of Lusby. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sister Julia Bowser of Bel Air, MD, and numerous nieces and nephews.
