Roy Edward Miffleton, Jr.”Ed”, 82 of St. Leonard, MD passed away on July 20, 2020 in Washington D.C. Ed was born on July 29, 1937 in Washington D.C. to the late Roy E. and Elizabeth Eleanor Clark Miffleton, Sr.. Ed was a retired Washington DC Fire Fighter.
Ed is survived by his wife, Dianne E. Miffleton, father of Sheryl Walsh (Bill), of Silver Spring, MD. Diana Hill, of Florida, and Laura Loveless Barrett (John Lynch), of St. Leonard, MD
Grandfather of eight, Great Grandfather of four, he is also survived by his sister Arlene Yeomans (Don Loveless) of Miami FL.
Ed worked as a D.C. Firefighter for 20 years and retired on April 2, 1983. He married his third wife, Dianne Elizabeth Miffleton, on August 24, 1972 and they would have been married for 48 years this August. In his earlier years he enjoyed Charter Fishing, hunting and hanging out with firefighter friends both past and present. He also loved walking the beach with his wife and traveled on many occasions to the Bahamas with friends. Although many cats came and went in their home, none would gain Ed’s affection quite like Tigger. Tigger sits in his chair and mourns the loss of his buddy. Ed was an avid Washington Redskins fan until his death.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Burn Center at Children’s Hospital.
