Roberta Jean Kinkade, “Jeannie”
January 28, 1961 – March 11, 2022
Roberta Jean Kinkade, affectionately known as Jeannie, a life-long resident of Maryland, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 11, 2022, at the age of 61.
Jeannie is survived by her husband; James Kinkade; her stepsons, Daniel Kinkade (Caitlin Shrum) and Jonathan Kinkade (Elizabeth); her sister, Susan Brewer; brother, Aubrey Leight (Anna); sister-in-law Elaine Anderson (Bill Sharp); nieces, Melissa Leight, Chelsea Leight, Jennifer Sorcinelli (Gino); nephews, Timothy Anderson (Laura), Stephen Anderson (Chelsey); grandson, Noah Kinkade; great niece Chloe Leight; her beloved yellow lab, Trapper; and many loved others. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Patricia Leight; mother-in-law, Doris Grover; brother John Leight; great-nieces, Faith and Hope Brown; and Alvin her much loved chihuahua.
Jeannie was born on January 28, 1961, in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. She grew up in Severn, Maryland where she graduated from Glen Burnie Senior High School. In 1998 she met James, the love of her life, and they were married on September 24, 2000. They built a home they loved, and have resided in Calvert County, Maryland since.
Jeannie was a devoted wife, stepmother, sister, aunt, friend, and dog mom. As a Calvert County School bus driver for the past 17 years, she thoroughly enjoyed getting the students to and from school safely each day, and watching them grow year after year. Whenever she was out in town, you were bound to hear a voice asking Ms. Jeannie how she was doing. A lover of summer, Jeannie enjoyed spending time outside whether it was working in her yard or visiting the beach. She was also an avid animal lover and supporter who spoiled her dogs to no end. If you ever heard her talking about them, you would have sworn she was talking about children! She will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew her.

Jim & family,
So sorry to hear of Jeannie’s passing. I pray she did not suffer and has gone on to heaven
to be that special angel. I always enjoyed talking with her and we always had a good time.
I know she drove school bus for awhile & always told her she was brave.
We did not get to see each other often but alway glad to see each other & talk & laugh. I pray
she is at peace now. God be with the family.P
Jim & family, Jenell and I are sadden to hear the news of Jeannie’s passing. We can’t thank you enough for being good friends and great neighbors over the years. Jeannie was so affectionate to our dog “Dusty”. We so miss you guys since moving to Tennessee. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and in the many days ahead. May God surround you with his mighty and caring arms and lift you up in your time of need. Blessings to you and family. Kevin & Jenell
Jim and Family,
Words can not Express how very heartbroken I am for your loss. Jean was not just a friend she was family. I had the privilege of knowing and living next to her as a child/teenagers. Very thankful we stayed close and in touch over the many years camping trips and Nags Head trips together. God has gained an angel Jean will truly be missed by many people who love her.
Jim and Family, Words cannot express how heartbroken I am. Jeannie was always like family. Henry, I, Scott and Stacey always knew we could count on “our” Jeannie. Whenever she and I talked lately it was like no time had passed. I’m so glad she and I stayed in touch. She will be missed by all who had the priviledge of knowing and loving her. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and the family during this difficult time.
