Ralph Rex Bloor

September 15, 1931- October 20, 2022

Ralph Rex Bloor, 91, of Huntingtown, MD passed to his eternal home October 20, 2022. He was born on September 15, 1931 in Louisville, KY to Alice Virginia (Dye) and Ralph Loveland Bloor. He was in the first graduating class of Annapolis High School in 1949 and served in the Army at Fort Belvoir, VA. Ralph had 4 children with his first wife. He was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when he met his current wife Judy, they married in 1988.

For several years, Ralph owned a VW dealership in Easton, Maryland. He also served as a State of Maryland Volunteer Ranger and was a member of the Friends of Point Lookout Lighthouse. As a private pilot, Ralph belonged to the Potomac Antique Aero Squadron. He introduced many friends to aviation, taking a few fun detours along his way. For many years, he remained very active in Boy Scouts through his church.

Camping was one of Ralph’s great enjoyments. He was known to all as a kind and gentle soul.

Ralph is survived by his beloved wife Julia “Judy” Bloor of Huntingtown; children Stephen Bloor (Mary) of Severn, Eric Bloor of Wheaton, and Christopher Bloor (Michelle) of Fulton; stepchildren John Schulkins IV (Ivette) of Nampa, ID, Jessica Gottshalk (Joshua) of Leonardtown, MD, Eric Schulkins of De Kalb, TX, and Rebecca Barnett (McLean) of Iowa Colony, TX; grandchildren Albany, Jacob, Luke B., Victoria, Timothy, John, Brianna, Joseph, Luke S., Madeline, and Logan; great-grandchildren Henry, and Ellie; brother David Bloor (Margaret) of Richmond, VA as well as many friends and admirers. Ralph was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Koenig.

    While I never had the pleasure to meet Ralph, I am acquainted with his son, Eric, and can only presume that Ralph contributed to the integrity and honor I see in his off-spring. My deepest condolences to the Bloor family.
