Thank you for being a wonderful stepdad. We had our ups and downs but we had some great times as well. You taught me how to drive, and taught me to work hard. I really enjoyed when we moved to Birch Manor and built our empty basement into a wonderful family room, den and master bedroom for you and mom (Peggy) I’m sad you had to go, but happy you are out of pain. I know your in heaven with mom and all your loved ones. RIP
So many memories of my Uncle Mike, all pleasant and cherished. The youngest of my mom’s five brothers, he served in Viet Nam and is my #1 hero! I remember the fear that gripped us, especially mom and Granny Mac when he left a young man to fight in a war that was so misunderstood. Thank God, he returned a hero! He went on to be a supremely successful businessman. He was the most genuine and generous man. His family was his primary concern. He was creative, artistic and had a great sense of humor. He bought my first 8 track tape, Rolling Stones, “Sticky Fingers” a favorite of mine today. He was a backbone of the family and hosted most of the family functions. I miss him and the closeness shared by my mom and her brothers. I especially miss those early family gatherings in Morningside with cousins, aunts and Granny Mac!
Until we meet again ❤️
Mike and I grew up together in Morningside. He was a true friend anytime you needed help and always a wonderful person to be around. He and his family were always hard workers throughout their lives. Rest in peace good friend.
We grew up together on the same street in Morningside. I remember my Mom Emma Witczak needed new carpet, Mike came by her house and put it in for free, because Emma was a friend. Rest in peace Mikey McDonald. God Bless. Mary Lou
Uncle Mike was a big inspiration in my life. I learned that you could create the life you want from hard work and determination. Some of my happiest childhood memories were at his houses- in Morningside, Chesapeake Beach, and Huntingtown. I will forever be grateful for everything he did for my Dad, Pat. He also stepped in when my Dad passed away. Since my kids didn’t have any grandparents, he always made them feel special. He has been an important person to them. The last time he visited, even though he didn’t feel well, he rode go karts with my older two. He was an integral part of the Macdonald family and will be immensely missed.
