I first met Matt when he was 17. He became part of a very close knit group of friends, living with us for years. Two things stick out about him to me: one, he lived life his way. The second time I met him he came to my door wearing a skirt, conbat boots, a mesh shit and cowboy hat. I knew at that moment he’d fit in well with the group. The second thing is actually the first thing I noticed. Matt took his tattoos seriously, and there were a few I wanted to slap him for just for who had done them. The ones that were a blur and barely legible were not the ones I had done. The necklace of skulls, the chest and back pieces, and a few on his legs I claim. People dob’t realize how intimate tattooing is, and he and I spent a LOT of time together over the years doing ink. We lost touch for a while, until the advent of social media, where we found one another again. It seemed all was well when we chatted, and it came as quite a surprise to find out he left us. He’ll be missed by not only me, but all the old friends I’ve let know as well. RIP, Matt. We love you, brother
