Janice Marie Lloyd, 72, of Dunkirk passed away July 27, 2021. She was born November 28, 1948 in Prince George’s County to John Purdy and Alice Genevieve (Norfolk) Lloyd. Janice was raised in Upper Marlboro and graduated from Frederick Sasscer High School. She moved to Dunkirk in 1976. Janice was employed as a personnel specialist with NASA for 40 years, retiring in 2007. She was an active member of Mt. Harmony United Methodist Church where she led the meal ministry and Angel Tree Project. Janice served as president of the United Methodist Women for 25 years and was devoted to women’s safety through Safe Harbor. She was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and Nationals. In her spare time, she enjoyed listening to country music, bowling, crossword puzzles, word searches, traveling, making baked goods, especially fudge, and spending time with her family and dogs Mason and Frankie. Janice was a great friend to everyone, a caregiver to her parents, and a guardian to her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Janice is survived by her grandchildren Brad Lloyd and Patrick and Kyle Brooke, cousin Patty Mayhew, and numerous extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Deanna Brooke.
