James Vernon Hardesty

November 22, 1941- February 3, 2023

James Vernon Hardesty passed away on February 3, 2023 at the age of 81 with his family at his bedside. Vernon was born on November 22, 1941 at the family home to Robert and Ruth (Ireland) Hardesty. Vernon was a member of the National Guard Army. Vernon was a long-time member of the Deale Volunteer Fire Department where he was Chief, he also did several other roles over the years. Vernon was employed by the Anne County Fire Department. He retired in 1988. He was also an electrician for over 50 years. He was an avid reader and had several racehorses over the years. Vernon enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert O Hardesty (Martha), sister Delois Chaney Cullember (Charles Chaney and Jerry Cullember). He is survived by his sister Ruth Anne Gibson (Gregory) and many nieces and nephews.
Vernon will be missed by his family and friends and will always be in our hearts.
