James Robert Moore, Sr., 91, of North Beach, MD passed away February 4, 2024. He was born April 24, 1932 in Upper Marlboro, MD to Margaret (Foulk) and James Moore. He was raised in Hillside, MD and attended public school. He married Evelyn Haley in 1956 and they lived in Hillside, and for the past fifty years he resided in Prince Frederick and North Beach in Calvert County. He was a US Air Force veteran, and was employed as a carpenter. He was a volunteer at North Beach Volunteer Fire Department, and Life Member of Oddfellows Lodge in Forestville. James loved dancing, and enjoyed bowling and playing golf.

James was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, his parents James and Margaret Moore, a daughter Deborah Moore, and by his siblings Shirley, Jean, Tommy, and Jimmy. He is survived by daughters Brenda Pickerall, and Pamela Taylor and her husband Robert, all of North Beach, his son James R. Moore and wife Tina of Owings, a sister Diane and brother Leonard, and by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A celebration of James’ life will be held Sunday April 21, 2024 from 1-4 PM at the Stallings-Williams American Legion Post in Chesapeake Beach, MD.
