Where Heritage and Life are celebrated.

Jack Stowe

July 9, 1950- June 11, 2022

Jack Stowe, 71, of Chesapeake Beach entered into heavenly peace on June 11, 2022.   He was born on July 9, 1950, in Suitland, Maryland to Mary Estelle Lucas and Edmond Leon Stowe.

Jack was an auto mechanic for many years until he went to work for and then retired from the Library of Congress as an elevator mechanic. He loved boating and crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay, motorcycles, going to Potomac Speedway with friends, playing poker, tools, working on cars in his garage and walking his dogs on the North Beach boardwalk.   Jack loved all children and was a wonderful father to his two children, Debbie and Brian and beloved grandfather to Nicholas and his “little” LeAnne.   He was loved by many, always willing to help anyone and frequently known as “Uncle Jack”.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Marshall Stowe, his two children, Deborah Ann and Brian Marshall Stowe, his 2 favorite grandchildren, Nicholas Brian Stowe and LeAnne Eve McCutcheon and his sister Susan (Tina) Smith.  He was preceded in death by his 7 siblings, Billy Stowe, Everett “Bubba” Stowe, Jackie Oakley, Diane Laurant, Joanne Payne, Ricky Stowe and Kathyrn Smith.

The family prefers flowers from a local florist, Floral Expressions, 7914 Southern Maryland Boulevard, Owings, MD 20736. https://calvertflorist.com/

Donations in Jack’s memory may also be made to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, where he stayed while getting treatment, at the address and link below.

Family and friends will be gathering for a Celebration of Life from 2-6 PM at the American Legion Post 206, 3330 Chesapeake Beach Road, Chesapeake Beach, MD 20732.
