Hugh William “Bill” Clarke, Sr., 92 of Lusby, MD passed away on December 12, 2021 at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital. Born May 26, 1929 in Newton, MA, he was the son of the late James J. Clarke and Jessie (Livingston) Clarke.

Bill was enlisted in the U.S. Navy from October 1948 until October 1952. During his enlistment, he served in Korea and aboard the USS Valley Forge (CV-45).  He was a welder at NAS Patuxent River, retiring in November 1993.

Bill is survived by his children, Terresa Clarke (Charlie), Hugh William Clarke, Jr. (Marla), Thomas Clarke (Kim) and Patricia Gallati (Peter); ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and brother James Clarke, Jr. of W. Yarmouth, MA.  He was preceded in death on June 15, 2021 by his wife, Martha Fisher Clarke whom he married on October 21, 1956 in Newton, MA; and his sister, Mary Kelleher.
