Ernest Gordon “Ernie” LiCalzi
December 19, 1939 – February 18, 2016

Ernest Gordon “Ernie” LiCalzi, 76, of Ridgely, MD passed away February 18, 2016 at his residence. He was born December 19, 1939 in Washington, D.C. to Joseph and Florence Lucille (Oakley) LiCalzi. He was raised in Capitol Heights and married Donna Tucker on May 14, 1979. Ernie retired in December of 2014 from the Department of Defense as a maintenance mechanic at the Army Research Lab, Blossom Point Facility in Welcome, MD. Prior to that Ernie worked as a plasterer with C A Coakley, Noveinger and several other companies. He was also employed as a plumber with Prince George’s County Schools and was the owner of Bay Country Taxidermy. In his leisure time Ernie enjoyed volunteering as a Maryland hunter safety instructor and working with the youngsters, a position which he held for several years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ronald and Joseph LiCalzi. He is survived by his wife Donna Tucker LiCalzi of Ridgely, MD; children John E. LiCalzi, Sr. and his wife Betty of Greensboro, MD, Donna L. Adamecz and her husband Myron of Edgewater, Mary K. Mullen and her husband Tom of Annapolis and William E. LiCalzi, Sr. and his wife Mary of Greensboro, MD. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren with 2 on the way and 1 great-great grandchild, as well as a sister Judith L. Ward of Colonial Beach, VA.
