Donald Franklin Steadman

November 10, 1942- January 18, 2021

Donald F. Steadman, 78, passed away unexpectedly January 18, 2021, at his residence. He was born November 10, 1942, in Woodstock, VA, son of the late Isaac F. and Helen Bowman Steadman.

Donald graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School. Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Air Force as a fuel truck operator, for four years. Then began his career with the Washington Gas Company where he would later retire. He met his wife of over forty years, Beverly L. Steadman, and they settled in Chesapeake Beach. Donald was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church of Mt. Jackson and he was also a loyal member of the American Legion Stallings-Williams Post 206, of Chesapeake Beach.

He enjoyed spending his free time at the American Legion with his buddies, at the ranch in Mt. Jackson with his brothers and spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Sue Green, brothers, John, Bill and Douglas and a sister, Nancy.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly L. Steadman. He is also survived by granddaughters Emily Green and Rachel Wroble and her husband William Wroble III; great grandchildren Maddison, Chloe, and William IV; sister Judy and her husband, sister-in-law Diana; distant nieces and nephews and family friends.
