Diane Teresa Woods
November 13, 1938- October 29, 2020

Diane “Dee” Teresa Woods, 81, of Huntingtown passed away October 29, 2020 at Calvert County Nursing Center in Prince Frederick. Dee was born November 13, 1938 in Washington, D.C. to Francis and Charlotte (Domras) Hoyle. Dee was a very spunky, outspoken, and genuine woman with a big heart. She had a strong belief in right and wrong and she would freely give you her opinion, whether you asked for it or not. She was a dedicated bus driver in Calvert County for over 35 years. She loved shopping, family get-togethers, and holidays with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She had many special pets over the years and she loved them all dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Shirley M. Woods and her beloved husband Samuel F. Woods, of nearly 64 years. Together they had a strong bond and enduring love for one another. Surviving are her three children, Sheila A. Trainor and her husband Stephan of Prince Frederick, Samuel F. Wood, III “Sambo” and his wife Margaret of Port Republic and Philip C. “Phil” Woods and his wife Lori of Prince Frederick, her four grandchildren Shanna, Bo, Austin and Samantha and two great-grandchildren Wyatt and Emi. To say she will be missed is an understatement.

I am so very saddened to learn of her passing. I met her at CCNC, where my mom is a resident. I always had good conversations with her, got her coffee and she was always thrilled to see pictures of my dogs and cats.
My extended prayers go out for your loss. I will miss her.
Prayers of comfort for you all.
When it was said someone died of a broken heart I believe this of Dee. I know Sam use to go visit her every day, I would see him when I visited our aunt. They were a perfect couple and great but stern parents that loved you Sambo, Sheila and Phil. Hold those memories close and if we can do anything please let us know. Hugs Nancy and Johnny Bowen
Ms. Woods was a very special lady. It was a pleasure spending time with her at CCNC. She loved Sam so so much as well as the rest of the family. The minute she would see Sam get off the elevator her whole face lit up. May she R.I.P.
