Dennis Dale Gibson

December 17, 1947- January 12, 2023

Dennis Dale Gibson, 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at home with his family by his side. Dale was born on December 17, 1947, in Cheverly, to the late Melvenia Peed (Gibson).

Dale graduated from Southern High School in 1966 and was soon after drafted to the U.S. Army in 1967. He served honorably in Vietnam until his discharge in 1969. Upon his return home he met the love of his life Renae; they were married for 50 wonderful years.

Dale was a member of Iron Workers Local 201 until he proudly retired in 1997. During his retirement Dale enjoyed working with his Labradors, crabbing with his wife, and spending quality time with his granddaughters.

Dale was preceded in death by his mother, Melvenia Peed and his grandparents, Joseph A. and Bertha B. Gibson. He is survived by his wife Renae Gibson, daughters: Dawn Salazar (David Salazar) and Darci Gessford (Kent Gessford), his grandchildren: Mikayla Salazar, Maysen Salazar (Kobe Hill) and Delaney Gessford.

Renae and family. I met Dale and Renae at Gateway years ago. Unbeknownst to me, my husband Howard had met Dale first. Dale and Howard would always have a great time chatting, what they didn’t know, was so did me and Renae. I finally got to talk to Dale one day, and then he was like, “you’re Howie’s wife?” I am going to miss you as I know your whole family will. I send prayers of love and comfort to you Renae and your children during this most difficult time.
