Charles Lee Benton

June 10, 1932 – September 15, 2014

Charles Lee Benton, 82, of Hughesville, Maryland passed away on Sptember 15, 2014 at Burnett-Calvert Hospice House in Prince Frederick, Maryland.He was born on June 10, 1932 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Claude Vernon and Marie Cockrell Benton.
Mr. Benton served Active duty National Guard from 1947 to1950, when he then joined the Air Force and served till 1954. He received the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Medal, National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. Benton was the founder of Precision Design, Inc. in 1969. He had a second home in Rock Point, MD where he enjoyed spending time with family, boating, fishing, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley A. Benton of Hughesville, Maryland, son, Gary Benton of Port Republic, Maryland, and daughters, Teri McLhinney of Hughesville and Laura Benton of Alexandria, Virginia. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Jennifer Parker and Justin Denton. The family will receive friends at the Rausch Funeral Home, 4405 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, Maryland on Thursday September 18, 2014 from 10:30 – 12 Noon where services will follow at Noon. Interment is in Chesapeake Highlands Memorial Gardens, Port Republic, Maryland.
