I will be forever grateful for the love and joy Carrie shared with my father. I believe the time they had together were the most happy years of his life, and she helped me when I needed it most. We will not forget the love you brought to our lives, now and forever.
We love you, Carrie! Miss your laugh, your smile, and your kindness already! You left your mark and will not be forgotten. So glad I got to see and share some of your happiest moments – planning your honeymoon and our hilarious trip to Mexico! Seeing this picture of you makes me smile! Laura (and Gil) Madrid
So very sad & sorry for this huge, unexpected illness & early death of Carrie. She will always be remembered as a wonderful person who enjoyed her life so much. Prayers for strength to get through this very difficult time & eventual peace. God Bless all of you. Brenda Gesell
Bright Star shine on through our tears. The baby in bonnet perky after a night of wakefulness, as grandparents and aunts and uncles smiled at her resilience as we waved goodbye to the weary parents. The toddler in Tacoma, the young girl camping in the Olympics and the shore, the teen curled up engrossed in reading a book, the cousin visiting my kids, the bride with her groom radiant for all to see … Our Carrie shine on bright star.

Only spent a little time with you when you came to join us in wishing John well as he moved on from Aetna to his next chapter closer to you and your new role. Never dreamt that I’d be hearing this news so soon after enjoying our conversation and the laughs we had there.
My heart aches for Carrie’s loved ones. Carrie was my boss and my friend. We spent many hours together at Kaiser. We often talked about family, John, travels, and just about anything you can imagine. I cherished those moments then, and even more today. I will always remember her smile, her voice, and her distinct laughter. Carrie is brilliant but what makes her truly special is her warmth and kindness. I will be forever grateful to have known her.
I am heart-broken about your loss. May you be surrounded by the loving spirit that she leaves behind.
As her direct report at one time at Group Health, I knew Carrie as my “boss”, as well as my friend. Conscientious, hard working, fun loving, great sense of humor, wry smile … good times working for her. Will miss her. Godspeed Carrie …
I am so incredibly saddened to hear of Carrie’s passing. My deepest condolences to you John, and all her family and friends. I worked with Carrie at Group Health, starting when she was an assistant working while getting her degree. She quickly rose through the ranks of finance before moving on to Kaiser. She was brilliant and more importantly, such a wonderfully nice, nice soul. Carrie was beautiful, inside and out. May your wonderful memories of dear Carrie help sustain you through this difficult time.

Carrie was our duplex neighbor in Virginia Beach. She was the best neighbor one could hope for, always ready to share herself, her humor and a glass of wine. We hated to see her move. We send her family and friends our deepest condolences.

Carrie had a beautiful sincerity and genuineness in her that is hard to find. Working on her team at Kaiser was a rewarding experience much because of the kind love and support she showed to everyone. I remembered today the vases she had in her office because of the many beautiful bouquets of flowers John sent quite regularly:) She was and is loved. I’m praying for her family and friends during this difficult time.
Carrie was a smart, funny, kind and beautiful person. I worked with her at GH and followed her career and felt great pleasure in her success. John I know you will miss her and it will be painful for quite some time and I pray that your heart will heal and that the memories will be comforting. I’m glad that she is no longer suffering.
It is with great sadness that I read of Carrie’s passing Somethings in life are just not right. For such an amazing vibrant woman to be taken from us way too soon is just not right.
Carrie had such a positive impact on those she touched. She was smart, caring and fun. My condolences to you zJohn and to all of her family.
I am late in my condolence, having just been jolted by learning of Carrie’s passing yesterday (didn’t even know she was ill). I worked closely with Carrie at Group Health as her investment banker from Citigroup and then kept track of her various career moves afterwards including reconnecting when she was at Kaiser, both here in the East Bay where I live and in Georgia. I love the picture you posted. The impish grin captures perfectly Carrie’s fun personality and intelligence. She was always able to see the humor in any difficulty. Her joyful spirit will live on in my memory.
