Beverly Sue “Bev” James, 69, of Lusby, MD passed away on August 30, 2022 at Calvert Health Medical Center. Born August 11, 1953 in Coldwater, MI, she was the daughter of the late Victor Raymond Stroh and Marjorie Ann (Smith) Stroh.
Bev graduated from Bronson High School in 1971. She moved to Calvert County from Warminster, PA on July 12, 1997. Bev was an Instructional Assistant for Calvert County Public School for eighteen years, retiring on January 1, 2019. She was a co-sponsor of the GSA at Patuxent High School as well as the Mock Trial before retirement. She enjoyed shopping, reading and history.
Bev is survived by her children, Kirk E. Worthington of Lusby, MD, Kevin L. Worthington (Renee) of Alva, FL, and Heather N. James (Alan Wetherald) of Arlington, VA; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Kenneth Stroh of MI, Carolyn Dotts of IN and Frank Stroh of CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Paul James whom she married on December 12, 1989 in Virginia Beach, VA and daughter, Sarah A. James.
Family will receive friends on Monday, September 12, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service conducted by Pastor Bob Lee following at 12:00 p.m. at Rausch Funeral Home, 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD. Interment will be on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
