Uncle Bill I remember the days when we hung tobacco in the barn together. In the middle of swampy August humidity, I never heard you complain. I remember how you looked at grandad with love and respect. You didn’t have to say it, you showed it. Maybe towards the end of life there were things you wanted to say or wished you had said, but you did the most important thing, you gave your love as best you knew how and let your actions speak. It’s been a blessing to have you as my Uncle.

Will always be my Uncle Bill.
I used to come down to that farm as a kid with him and Aunt Nancy. Had a lot of fun when I was there. Uncle Bill let me help paint his wooden boat, but not you could see. I remember taking my kite to the farm to fly. Was with him one day there helping cut a tree down. Me being a kid wondering around, I wondered in the path of the falling tree. Lucky it was the very top and only small limbs hit me. Uncle Bill thought I was dead! Will always remember Uncle Bill!

I came to know Bill during the early 1970s when we worked together in the bureau of patrol of the PGPD. There are lots of accolades I could write about Bill, but none higher then the level of professionalism he displayed as a police officer. Although I haven’t seen him since my retirement, I was quite taken by the news of his death.

Ed & Dottie Bellafiore/. I first met Bill in July 1968 when I joined the PG County PD.–he was my FTO, field training officer. Later we became close friends and he was best man at my wedding. Bill was the most honest person I have ever known. Never ask him a question if you couldn’t handle his answer. I remember harvesting tobacco with his siblings and although I tried hard keeping up–I was a novice. I asked Bill how I did, after ten hours in the sun , Bill responded: “Some day you might get the hang of it”. I will always cherish our times together hunting and fishing. Our deepest sympathy to Jeannie & family.

To all the Norris family, I am so sorry to hear about Bill’s passing. As many have said Bill was a man of few words, but he had a way of showing love without saying a word. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Jeanne, Holly, Chris and extended family of Bill, I am so deeply sorry for your loss of kind, considerate, helpful, generous and honorable Bill. He and his family moved nextdoor to my parents in Brandywine in the late 60’s or early 70’s. He became part of our family and was extremely helpful to my parents, especially my mom, after my dad died. He left the world a better place and may he have heavenly peace. I was privileged to spend many hours with Bill hunting on the Patuxent. Although quiet, he was a great hunting companion, and prepared the best fried oysters, under adverse conditions, that I’ve ever eaten. He will be missed.
