Zola Gay Hill, 96, of Solomons, MD passed away on September 6, 2023 in Prince Frederick, MD. She was born in Yadkinville, North Carolina, to Gurnie and Cordelia Dixon .

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gurnie and Cordelia Dixon, her sister, Ella Mae Dixon Atamian, and Gay’s husband, Stanley Hill.

She is survived by her nephew, Dixon Grey Atamian and his wife, Barbara Atamian, of Durham, North Carolina.

Gay graduated from Boone College, a Teacher’s College in North Carolina.  She then taught 1^st grade in Silver Spring, Maryland.

She was a respected Grand Marshal of The Eastern Star.

Gay played the organ for Church Services and weddings. She was

a Choir Director.  She also played the piano.

She liked playing cards and games.  She loved Jigsaw Puzzles.  Gay also did crafts such as knitting, cross stitch, and embroidery.

She was a member of Olivet United Methodist Church

There will be a funeral service in Celebration of her Life on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Asbury Benevolent Fund, in memory of Gay Hill.
