William A. Runyan
January 9, 1951 – September 10, 2024
William Alexander “Bill” Runyan passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his wife Victoria and son Christopher on September 10, 2024. Bill and Victoria were married for 28 years. Bill was born January 9, 1951 in Atlanta, Georgia to William Alexander Runyan Sr. and Christine Taylor Runyan. He spent the first 14 years of his life in Georgia before moving to Prince George’s County Maryland. He became a father in 1971, to his son James. He spent his career working all over the DC metro area employed as a mechanic, welder and gas station builder. There was not much Bill couldn’t do.
Bill was always working on something, tinkering around the garage restoring gas pumps, motorcycles, antique strollers or anything he could take apart and fix. He never sat idle. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Weekends were often spent sitting by the bonfire, making s’mores for his grandbabies, as he lovingly called them or taking the kids for a motorcycle ride. Bill was a bit of a dare devil, took risks and did not leave this Earth with any regrets.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria, son Christopher (Kara Cretsinger), his four grandchildren Livia, Genevieve and their mother Lauren, Jack and Camilla, his sister Bev (Lemuel Peters) and nephews Lemuel Jr and Joey. He was preceded in death by his son James, and his parents.
The family will hold a private celebration of life at a date to be determined.
