Wayne Allen Carr, 76, of Huntingtown, MD, passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 at his residence with his family by his side. Wayne was born on July 10, 1943 in Laurel, MD to Roy Carr and Edythe Elaine Stine. He married his wife of 57 years, Donna Lou Car, in 1962. He established a career as a lineman and dispatcher for Pepco, and worked there for 35 years before his retirement in 1998, then spent the following years driving semi-trucks for various companies throughout Calvert County. Wayne loved drag-racing, old cowboy movies, and his ’57 Chevrolet restoration project. He was the happiest when working on cars in his garage, especially when his friends were there to keep him company.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Donna, daughter Wanda (Randy) Alleman, and son Neil Carr, all of Huntingtown, MD, grandchildren Jason and Jodi Meadows, sisters Paulette (Herbert) Reed of Davidsonville, MD, Linda (Robert) Harrington of Locust Grove, VA, and aunt Ella Jane Reed of Murrells Inlet, SC. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Edythe, and brother Roy Eldon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Wayne’s name may be made to Calvert Hospice, PO Box 858, Prince Frederick, MD, or to Huntingtown United Methodist Church, PO Box 550, Huntingtown, MD.

Wayne, I miss you already. Who am I going to call on holidays and birthdays and for nothing at all? What I’m saying is that I will miss you always and forever. Now there is just the two us—Paulette and me. Just keep an eye on us and thank you for growing up with us and taking care of us like big brothers are supposed to do. Send us signs that you are near by.

    Love you always,

As your cousin who used to spend some time with you, I saw how proud & protective Wayne was as a brother of his two delightful sisters. It’ s a special blessing of our God to be in a close family where I remember two brothers and two sisters respecting and caring for each other. While its not been my privilege to know Wayne’s dear wife & children, I’m sure the Lord Jesus can bring each of you great healing, just as He has graciously given Wayne as a special husband & father with unforgettable, precious memories together! Wayne “Motor” Carr. I remember our many shifts working together. Spending the times between jobs talking.
Wayne had an artists touch and could paint a car like a classic master put oil paint and brush to canvas. Never in a bad mood at work and always bringing everyone up with his good cheer.
