Walter Jeffrey Newton
November 26, 1937 – July 27, 2019
On Saturday, July 27, 2019, Walter Jeffrey (Jeff) Newton, a devoted husband, loving father of four, passed away at the age of 81.
Jeff was born November 26, 1937 in Washington D.C. to Walter Tilden Newton and Ann (Brizendine) Newton. Jeff lived Washington D.C. and spent the summers in Tappahannock. VA at his grandparent’s farm as a child. The family moved to Arlington, VA when Jeff was a teenager. In 1957 Jeff met Carol Jean (Gedeon) Newton for the first time in Langley Park, MD and on September 12, 1961, the two married in Arlington, VA.
Jeff was a very hard working person who loved his children. He had a passion cars, boxing, and boating. Jeff especially loved his 11 grandchildren.
“That man is a success –
who has lived well,
laughed often and loved much;
who has gained the respect of intelligent men
and the love of children;
who has filled his niche
and accomplished his task;
who leaves the world better
than he found it;
who has never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty
or failed to express it.;
who looked for the best in others
and gave the best he had.”
Unknown.
Dad, you will forever be held in our hearts.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father Walter T Newton, his mother Ann Newton. His wife, Carol Newton, his daughter in-law Lisa M. Newton. May he Rest In Peace with Carol…Sending much Love and Prayers to the entire Newton extended Family.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Newton family. This has been a very tough year for you guys. Stay strong and keep the faith. I know it is hard to believe sometimes, but God has a plan for all of us. I am here if you need anything.
To the family of Jeff Newton – from the time I was little I remember Jeff ‘s infectious laugh and love of fun. He never forgot his Brizendine relatives in Howertons. When they all got together they shared memories and laughed a lot. He was a great friend to all the Frank Brizendine children. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family .
