Vivian Yebens Nauser
May 15, 1938 – September 3, 2023
Vivian Yebens Nauser of Neeld’s Estate passed away peacefully at Washington Hospital Center as the sun rose on Sunday, September 3, 2023. She was surrounded by her three daughters and said goodbye to her husband and son before she left this world behind.
Vivian is survived by her husband of 65 years, Don Ray Nauser, her children Donald Nauser Jr. and his wife Dianne of Poplar Bluff, MO, daughters Laura Antonelli and her husband J.P. of Annapolis, Leslie Schrader and her husband Chris of Chevy Chase and Leigh-Ann Haas and her husband Raymond of of Edgewater, 13 cherished grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Vivian was born on May 15, 1938 in Washington DC. She grew up in Washington with her parents Irene Agnes (Daly) and Walter Joseph Yebens and older sister Barbara. Vivian spent her summers visiting a cottage along the coast of Maryland where she later brought her own children and eventually her grandchildren. Vivian embodied love and honesty. She was feisty, thoughtful and always told you exactly how she felt. Vivian was unfailingly quick with a joke. Her positive attitude, resilience and faith never wavered despite her many health battles during the past few years.
Vivian was a devoted mother and an adored grandmother. We were captivated by her lovely spirit, infectious laughter and undeniable strength. She always sang “You Are My Sunshine” to her grandchildren but she is our sunshine. Vivian was happiest at the Chesapeake Bay surrounded by family. Vivian’s presence can be felt in the salt air and warm summer nights on the beach. She will be missed deeply and loved eternally.
We will celebrate her life with a memorial mass on Friday, September 8 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in North Beach. For those who can join us, we ask that you wear bright colors to reflect Vivian’s love for the beach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider a donation to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to protect her favorite place on earth.

All of us that grew up in Neeld Estates were very lucky and blessed to have Vivian as a role model and second mom.
She was one of the most caring individuals that always put others first and really cared about the neighborhood.
I know in my heart that having people like her in my younger life was a true blessing and I am eternally grateful.
