When you meet someone who has a ready smile, kind, and welcoming, it uplifts you and your day. These are some of the precious gifts Tom had. We were gifted by his presence and the good in him. He shared them with everybody. He took his work seriously whether at the Naval Intelligence, county school sports and recreation and any volunteer work. He was his own person and knew good can only come from being good to others. He lived his life without complaining, took every challenge as it came. He didn’t speak much but only when needed and trusted all things to God’s Providence. May the angels now bring your soul to paradise and rest in God’s peace… to us coach, friend and model usher of JDW; widower, father, father in law, grandfather, and brother to all of his loving family.
Peace, Cecilia

I got to know Tom close to 40 years ago as we were both avid Tennis players. He was one of the best players in Calvert County. Tom was always friendly and personable, however, was quite competitive on the court. He taught many lessons through Parks and Rec through the years, in addition to private lessons. Tom will be missed and remember by all that knew him.

Tom was a really great person. Most church members probably knew him as an Usher at JDW because he was always at the Vigil Mass opening the door for parishioners and greeting people at the front door with a BIG smile and a hearty “Welcome”. Tom also liked to go out with our small group for dinner and really liked the lasagna at Three Brothers (he managed to eat every little piece and all the sauce) . He also liked the ribs at Adams Ribs, a full breakfast on Community Sunday and spending time with the Knights of Columbus. Generally a quite guy, Tom managed to make everyone around him happy and glad to see him. Tom will be missed by all who knew him. May you rest in piece with the Lord!

I just learned of Tom’s passing, I’ve been out of town. I first met when I became an usher at Jesus Divine Word. He would always greet me at the door always saying “welcome welcome”. We both served as ushers for several years and became friends, he will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Tom we now have the watch..!!
