August 24 – Obituary: Suzanne Lynn Shelton Drury
Hearing about Ms. Drury struck different than when I hear about my other patients. Ms. Drury was one of the patients I always stopped by to check on her to see how she was doing. She already knew me by name. She would say ” Hey Silvia!” and she’d start talking to me like if we were girlfriends. I am really going to miss Ms. Drury. I know she fought long and hard. I know the journey was not easy .I am happy to have given support and comfort along the way. Im glad I was able to give her a big hug of support and encouragement the last time I saw her. I didn’t know she liked sunflowers. But she is a sunflower! That’s all her! May you rest in peace Suzanne.Love, from one of your nurses, Silvia.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Suzanne’s passing. I thought very, very highly of Suzanne. As a co-worker, Suzanne was the most dependable, productive, and helpful employee I’ve known in my career. I had the pleasure of working with her for 6 years up until 2024, not long before she was diagnosed. Suzanne was amazing. She had the knowledge, experience, and confidence to tell me (and others) when we were wrong on something. Without a doubt, the glue that held everything together. I respected her greatly, and I will miss her greatly.

Hearing about the loss of Suzanne stung pretty hard. Lots of good memories from back in the day ! Suzanne tagging along when Sharon and I were dating, the Demolay and Jobs daughters events, her laughing and joking around in my car with Wilt and Hegamyer. Good thoughts and prayers to Sharon and Joey, the Shelton family always treated me like family. Remember the good times and cherish your family and friends.

What a heart break this news brings. Countless good memories with Suzanne and the Shelton family (Mom Oliver too!). Suzanne was a sweetheart/fireball for sure. Sharon and Joey – sending hugs your way. Timmy, John 2 (Wilt) and I are grieving our friend. I spoke to Suzanne several years ago and sadly we were never able to meet up. I seem to recall she was watching fireworks from her roof that night with Tommy and Jeff when we spoke, classic Suzanne. I pray everyone finds peace and has a smile thinking about that girl!
