Suzanne Lynn Shelton Drury, 60, of North Beach passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026 after a 21 month long-fought battle with Leukemia (AML). She was born September 18, 1965, in Washington, D.C. to Joseph and Bonnie (Barnes) Shelton. Suzanne was raised in Seat Pleasant and graduated from Central High School in 1983. She has been a resident of Calvert County for 35+ years and North Beach since 1999.

She had a long and successful career as an accounting manager for several construction companies.

She loved spending time with her family and friends, traveling, riding motorcycles with her boyfriend Tommy, and going on cruises. She took many motorcycle trips up and down the east coast from Maine to Key West, Florida.  She traveled out west to visit family and friends, as well.  She enjoyed spending time with family at Stilwater in the Northern Neck of VA. She also enjoyed gardening, attending many live music concerts with Tommy, Dan & Jim, and sunflowers.

Suzanne is survived by her children Josh (Angie) and Shelby, her longtime boyfriend Tommy Smith, sister Sharon Shelton-Allen (Pooch), brother Joseph Shelton, Jr., niece Shannah Jarrett (JJ), great-nephew and niece JD and Lainey.  She is also survived by her former spouse Jeff Drury (Robin), her beloved cat Henry and numerous grand animals which she loved dearly.

In lieu of flowers, her wishes were donations of monetary or blood/platelets to the American Red Cross or donations to Hospice of the Chesapeake.

August 14 – Obituary: Suzanne Lynn Shelton Drury

What a heart break this news brings. Countless good memories with Suzanne and the Shelton family (Mom Oliver too!). Suzanne was a sweetheart/fireball for sure. Sharon and Joey – sending hugs your way. Timmy, John 2 (Wilt) and I are grieving our friend. I spoke to Suzanne several years ago and sadly we were never able to meet up. I seem to recall she was watching fireworks from her roof that night with Tommy and Jeff when we spoke, classic Suzanne. I pray everyone finds peace and has a smile thinking about that girl!
