I remember that in May 1997 signs went up in Stafford Springs that read
“Coming June 3”. I don’t remember
What Stafford was expecting but I
Got my first niece…a very special one.
Sue was kind, loving, generous and
Very much loved. I wish you all
Peace and blessings. Aunt Gail
To the family and close friends,
Sue’s Dad (David) and John Thurmond may be the only ones who know my name, but Sue and I were more than friends as classmates at Fort Hunt HS, then as we navigated through different colleges we grew apart. I just want you to know I was truly saddened to hear about her too-early passing. My heart hurts for you and you all will be in my thoughts and prayers. Every time I look through my HS Yearbooks and old photographs, the memory of Sue always brings a smile to my mind and face. And so it shall be for the rest of my life. May your happy memories replace your grief as time goes by, till they are all that is left. In The Spirit- Larry Adams
I attended Fort Hunt High School In Alexandria, Virginia with Susan. She was a year ahead of me in school. Susan was a bright, vivacious and sweet girl who was kind to everyone.
I remember her always smiling and willingly to talk with anyone and share a hug.
Susan was a lovely young lady. I’m glad that I knew her.

I am heartbroken. Such a warm, loving spirit taken too soon. She will be missed by all who were lucky enough to be part of her huge heart.
