Staci Rae Anderson

Staci Rae Anderson age 57, died peacefully at her home in Saint Leonard, MD on August 8, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on March 11,1969 in Bremerton, WA and moved to Maryland in 1977. She is preceded in death by her mom and dad (Daniel and Stacy Holba), her biological mother (Louise Ellen Sturm), and brothers (John Orville Atwood and Paul Michael Williams and a sister, Deborah Holba).

She is survived by her loving husband and soul mate Michael Anderson whom she married on April 30, 1988.  She was also survived by her two beautiful daughters: Megan Rae  Bussard (Brian aka “Bubba”) of Port Republic MD, and Chelsea Rae  Anderson (Landon Flanary) of Saint Leonard, MD, 2 grandsons: Finley and Maverick Bussard, sisters: Diane McCallister (Danny), Kay Atwood, Terry Wilkinson (Brad), Elaine Dubois (Mike), Juanita Holba, Terri Johnson, Cathy Williams, Darci Thibodeau, Robin Speer (Patrick), cherished best friends Melody Edwards and Nancy Wieck and many precious nieces and nephews.

Her career started at Saturn Corporation from 1989 thru 1999 where she worked through the ranks from a work log clerk to a production programming supervisor coding in COBOL and CICS.  In 1999 she began to support the Navy as a contractor for PSI Pax on the DIFMS Y2K conversion project.  She worked for 10 years supporting the Navy in various contractor capacities. In 2011 she became a Navy Civilian supporting the Navy ERP Program in Annapolis.  She continued with the Navy in various roles with NAVAIR, NAVWAR, NAVSEA, NAVY FMO and her final position with the Naval Research lab in which she retired from in April of 2026. She was a passionate and dedicated employee that worked hard and was well respected.

She loved being on or near the water and always found that to be her happy place whether it was walking the beach searching for seashells, fossils or sharks teeth or on a boat like her prized “The Chesapeake Rae”. She also enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens and piddling around in the yard.  Bonfires were also a favorite – with cold beer, good music and friends and family.  Spending quality time with her family “making memories” was always on her to do list.  She loved taking random road trips with her husband Mike to just wander aimlessly to see where they ended up.   She also loved doing crafts as demonstrated by her 10 years as a Girl Scout leader (Daisy/Brownie) when her girls were little.  Her grandsons Finley and Maverick loved doing “cwafts” with her as well as reading books and going on imaginary (and real) adventures!
