Sofia Papavasiliou, 68 of Prince Frederick, MD passed away on March 13, 2012 at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, D. C. She was born on August 8, 1943 in Doctors Hospital, Washington, D. C. to the late Margaret Krentz and John Christos Papavasiliou. Sofia is survived by her sons, Wade Sheets and Mike Green and his wife Stephanie; daughter Margaret Rosa Shifflet and her husband Eddie; grandchildren, Jillian and Kameron Sheets, Eddie and Emiley Shifflet and John Michael Green. The family received friends at the Rausch Funeral Home, P. A., 8325 Mt. Harmony Lane, Owings, MD on Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. A service celebrating her life was held on Monday, March 19, 2012 at Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 4115 Sixteenth St., N.W., Washington, D. C. at 11: 00 AM with Father Protopresbyter Nicholas G. Manousakis officiating. Interment followed at George Washington Cemetery, Adelphi, MD.
