Sharyn Lee Hardman, 77, of St. Leonard, Maryland passed away August 17, 2026, in Prince Frederick, Maryland. Sharyn was born on March 14, 1949, in Frederick, Maryland to the late Berkley Lynwood and Doris Geisler Pangle.
Sharyn is survived by her husband, Steven Hardman, mother of Richard Thomas, Michelle Thomas-Schiliro, and Timothy Hardman. Grandmother of; Chase Thomas, Windi Marcellas, Collette Hardman, and Heath Hardman. Sharyn is also survived by her great grandchildren Mason and Cali Marcellas and her brother, Robert Pangle.
She had a special love for Christmas and the joy, warmth, and togetherness that came with the season. More than anything, she treasured the time spent surrounded by family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Her beautiful smile and contagious laugh could light up any room, bringing comfort and happiness to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered
For many years, she proudly served as a Calvert County school bus driver, a job she truly loved. She looked forward to each school day and the many friendships she made along the way. She loved the laughter, stories, and fun that filled her bus, and she took great joy in watching the children grow from little ones into young adults. To so many students, she was more than their bus driver—she was a familiar, caring face who helped make their mornings and afternoons a little brighter. The memories she made with those children, and the many lives she touched along the way, will always be a special part of her legacy.

Miss Sharon was my bus driver thorough my time in elementary school. I think back on her often, and just how amazing of an example she set. Getting on the bus to school was never just a simple “get on the bus and go” type of affair. Miss Sharon would often exclaim that whenever we were on her bus we were her kids, and we really felt that. She cared so much for each and every one of us, and made riding that bus such a fun experience. Singing christmas carols, mobbing the seat behind her so we could chat on the drive (which was always a competition to see who could talk to her that day), or listening to her dole out the wisdom of the day. She would do things that were so unique too, she would point out every Calvert County Sheriffs Office vehicle and proudly exclaim that her son is a Deputy and how proud of him she was. One of my most fond memories of Miss Sharon though is that there was an elderly woman who lived along the route who we affectionately would call “Misses nice lady” because she would regularly bake us cookies or other extremely delicious treats and one day we stopped seeing her outside waving at us like she would always do. Miss Sharon took it upon herself to find out that misses nice lady was ill and had all of us kids sign a card for her. I think of that a lot well into adulthood. Thank you Miss Sharon.
Miss Sharon was the best of us, an absolutely incredible person who left her mark for years to come. She will be missed.
