Sandra Lynn Button, 66, of St. Leonard, MD passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on January 20, 2019. She was raised in Broomes Island and was one of nine children born to the late Levi Abraham Barnes and Elizabeth Luber Barnes-Barrett.
Sandy graduated from Calvert High School in 1970 and then went on to attend the Washington D.C. Beauty Academy where she received her Cosmetology License. She later became a legal secretary working for many law firms in Maryland.
Sandy was a loving mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law and her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She loved her home and found the most comfort in spending time at her home with her cats that she loved very much. She enjoyed the simple things in life like working in her yard and planting flowers, feeding and watching the birds and squirrels, decorating her home, shopping with her daughter, and attending her granddaughters’ activities.
Sandy is survived by her daughter Kelly Hance and her husband Timothy Hance of Huntingtown, granddaughters Meagan and Taylor Hance, sisters Gloria Yates, Carolyn Parker, Linda Lanzisera, and brother David Barrett. She is preceded in death by her parents Levi Barnes, Elizabeth Barnes-Barrett, Stepfather David Barrett and brothers William Barnes, Douglas Barnes, Solomon Barnes, and Timothy Barnes.
