Sally Ann Plusch

November 11, 1937- March 20, 2020

Sally Ann Plusch, 82, of Huntingtown, MD passed away March 20, 2020 at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital. Sally was born November 11, 1937 in Washington, D.C. to Gertrude Elizabeth (Lucas) and Harry W. Osterfeld. She was raised in the District and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, and also attended nursing school. She married Almerin “Al” Plusch on February 21, 1957 and they lived in Hyattsville until moving to Huntingtown in 1972. Sally was a devoted homemaker and mother, and a substitute teacher, and also operated home based businesses including Avon and Longaberger baskets. She was founding member of the First Lutheran Church of Calvert County where she was a choir member and Past President of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, and served as First Lutheran’s representative at church retreats. She was a Northern High School Band Booster, and enjoyed camping, crafts, playing bridge, and spending time with family and friends. She was also an avid fan of the Washington Redskins.

Sally was preceded in death by a daughter Laurie Ann Harmon. She is survived by her husband Al, a daughter Catherine Lee Hall of Olathe, KS, sons Allen J. Plusch and wife Kimberly of Middletown, DE and William R. “Will” Plusch and wife Kelli of Richmond, VA, grandchildren Shayne Gifford, Jordan Werre, Huston Hall, Gillian Doll, and Kelsie, Jamie, and Kyle Plusch, and great-grandchildren Taylor, Jason, Thomas, Lillian, Beau, Kian, and Archer.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Sally’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
