Rufus Edward Milor

April 2, 1931- December 9, 2020

Rufus Edward Milor, 89, of Solomons, MD and formerly of Hyattsville, MD, passed away on December 9, 2020 at the Asbury Health Care Center. Born April 2, 1931 in Mt. Rainier, MD, he was the son of the late Howard A. Milor and Helen Billingsley Milor.

Rufus graduated from McKinley Tech in Washington, DC in 1949 and attended George Washington University for one year studying accounting. He served in the United States Marine Corps from January 1952 until January 1954 and was assigned to the Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, NC. Rufus’ employment included working in sales for Hudson Supply and Equipment, working as an Assistant Buyer for S. Kann Sons Department Store, and Service Building Manager for Woodward & Lothrop.  He enjoyed Washington sports teams especially baseball and football, and he enjoyed working in the yard. Rufus was a Master Mason for Mt. Hermon Lodge No. 179 in Hyattsville, MD.

Rufus is survived by his wife, Barbara M. Milor whom he married in Mt. Rainier United Methodist Church; his children, Elizabeth  Milor and her husband Glen Worrell of Silver Spring, MD, Waverly Milor of Charlottsville, VA; one grandchild; and siblings, Howard A. Milor, Jr. of Middletown, MD and Irvin Milor of Elkridge, MD. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Helen Moyer, Kathrine Largent, Ronald Milor and Harry Milor.
