Ronald Schreffler Jetmore

Ronald ‘Ronny’ Schreffler Jetmore passed away on May 17, 2026. He was 82 years old. Born on November 27, 1943, in Washington, D.C., he was the cherished son of Ronald and Jeanne Jetmore.

After graduating from James Madison High School in 1962, Ronny and his parents moved from Northern Virginia to Calvert County, Maryland, to help manage operations at the Chesapeake Ranch Club, where Ronny remained until August 1974. He then transitioned to a career in the transportation office of the public school system. He thoroughly enjoyed his work there and dedicated himself to the role until his retirement in September 2004.

In 1968, Ronny married Cheryl McCready. Together, they raised two children, Jenny Jetmore Copsey and Ronald Jetmore. Ronny was a deeply devoted father, husband, and an excellent provider who did absolutely everything he could to support and help his wife and children throughout their lives.

As wonderful as he was as a dad and husband, he was an equally incredible grandfather. Ronny was known for asking anyone he met, “Do you have any grandchildren?”—a question that gave him the perfect opportunity to brag about his four beloved granddaughters: Molly and Besse Copsey; and Emersen and Emilia Jetmore.

In his spare time, Ronny loved being out on the water. Even while working for the school system, he spent his free hours fishing, trot lining and oystering on the river.

Ronny was a good, decent man who always had a warm smile for everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jon Jetmore, and his son-in-law Lance Copsey.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his children, Jenny and Ronny (along with his daughter-in-law, Melissa); and his four granddaughters. He also leaves behind his sister, Sandra White, and her husband, Ted. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Calvary Bible Church, 8300 Nursery Road, Lusby, MD. on Thursday July 9, 2026 at 11 AM
