Roger William Hansen, Sr., 82, of Huntingtown passed away August 29, 2024. He was born November 30, 1941, in Clintoville, WI to Leroy W. and Alma A. (Kreager) Hansen. Roger grew up in Clintonville and later joined the United States Army. He married Edith Childress on February 4, 1966, and they lived in Calvert County for over 40 years. Roger opened Hansen Pool Service in Silver Spring in 1982. He owned and operated the company with his son for many years, retiring in 2022. Roger had a strong work ethic and loved to work. He also enjoyed gambling, dining out, driving his Corvette, living on the Patuxent River, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.

Roger was preceded in death by his spouse Edith Hansen, stepdaughter Edith Marie Pickeral, parents Leroy and Alma Hansen, and his sister Jean Margaret Hansen Watson. He is survived by his son Roger Hansen Jr. and his wife Sharon of Sunderland, stepdaughter Betty Ann Cox, stepson James Cox, grandchildren Shaina Marie Lambert, Crystal Michelle Zorbaugh, and Eric William Rodgers, great grandchildren Nicholas Rodgers and Charles Louis Zorbaugh, Jr, and his brother Leroy Hansen.
