Robert Michael “Bob” Davis
January 12, 1944 – April 9, 2023
Bob Davis’ love of life didn’t come to an end with his death. He passed away on April 9, 2023, at the age of 79 after a courageous health battle and is survived by loved ones and friends who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
A Purple Heart decorated Vietnam veteran, Bob was a proud Marine who demonstrated to the world that there is no better friend and no worse enemy than a US Marine. Bob was fortunate to fall in love and marry twice and was fiercely proud of his children, Meghan Davis Mack and Robert (Bobby) Davis, Jr. He was a natural mentor to numerous young people, many who shared that he was like a father figure.
Following a career in telecommunications, Bob was able to pursue his dream job, custom home building and remodeling. He created housing masterpieces for many delighted clients and took immense pride in his work. Boating and fishing were his hobby passions, and he always found peace and tranquility on the water. His favorite quote was “When the winds of change blow, adjust your sails” and all his life’s endeavors reflected that philosophy.
Bob is survived by his wife Ruthy, daughter Meghan, son in law Mike, grandchildren Davis, Cate, and Hugh, son Bobby, brother Tom, sisters Dolly and Mart and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Family will be welcoming visitors on Friday, April 14th at 4pm followed by a brief service at 5pm at the Rausch Funeral Home, P.A., 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD 20657. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Wounded Warrior Project in Bob’s name.

My most sincere condolences to the whole family. I knew Bob through one of my college besties, Meghan. I spent so many good times with Meghan, Bob, Ruthy and many other friends. Memories of Jimmy Buffet (painting on pencil thin moustaches), sailing (singing the National Anthem as loud as we could), Chrisfield island, etc. It was Bob who taught me how to take a mental picture of something so that it stayed forever in your memory. Bob and Ruthy welcomed all of us into their home, took good care of us and showed us a good time, every time. Prayers for the whole family and excellent memories of this man.
It is with great sadness we hear of Bob’s passing. We recall many great memories of the times we shared together both here and in Maryland. Our condolences to Ruthie, Bobby, Megan and all the Davis family.

Wishing the best for the Davis family to endure his passing. His life and impact will be missed by many of us, but oh what memories! He certainly lived life to the fullest. My life was definitely changed. Some of the best times in my life were spent at his and Ruthy’s gatherings. He had a great love of friends, family and country.
Bonnie and I met Bob and Ruthy in 1995 when we started looking for waterfront land to build a future retirement home. Ruthy found us a perfect place, just three doors from them in Park Chesapeake. Over the next 28 years we became best friends and Bob built us a wonderful home which we lived in for more than 10 years. During that time the four of us went sailing on numerous occasions and on several vacations together to BVI, Key West, Crisfield and other places. We also became “best crab buddies” with Ruthy and consumed enormous quantities at their place and ours. Rest in peace Bob; you will always be a special friend.

Our deepest and heartfelt sympathies to the Davis Family. Bob loved life and he shared his passion for sailing with us. Bob showed us what it is like to be a friend, father, husband, and patriot! Words can’t express how proud we are to call him friend. We salute Bob in heaven. He was such a good friend over the years, and shared many fond memories. We will forever keep Bob in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers. Our deepest sympathies to all. Much love, and “until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hands”.
Dear Ruthie and family, we were so saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. Our deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family. May the Lord comfort you and your family during this darkest time and bring you a smile with every memory. God Bless you and your family. Deepest sympathy, Stacy & Devon
Words are inadequate to express my love and admiration for Bob. We met at Bell Communications Research around 1987-88 where we worked as directors on rotational assignments from Southwestern Bell and Bell Atlantic. As one might expect when an Okie and a Baltimorian (?) first meet, there was an adjustment period, but it didn’t take long for us to become fast friends and allies. We met several times a week after work for drinks after work at the Asian restaurant next to our office in Livingston, NJ. I have wonderful memories of sailing on the Sound out of Branford and learning the art of eating blue crabs with Bob and Ruthie as well as being part of a crew helping putting finishing touches on their house before Bob and Ruthie got married. Bob and Ruthie travelled to Oklahoma for my wedding to Ronda and Bob was my best man. As things often go we both got busy with our careers and lives and didn’t touch base as often as we should have, but we did catch up earlier this year in a phone call. I know you are probably working still and miss you buddy, but I’ll see you again some day. Love you Bob.

A most totally dependable friend. A more ambitious hard worker I haven’t known. We sure did have a lot of good times together and he’ll be dearly missed by all.
Ruthy,
We are saddened by the loss of Bob. We did not know him well but we do know you loved him, and that was good enough for us. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your son.
