Robert Louis Chaney
May 11, 1938 – February 7, 2023
Robert Louis Chaney of Dunkirk passed away February 7, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Robert, a life-long resident of Dunkirk, was born on May 11, 1938 to John Vinton and Hazel Marie (Phipps) Chaney. After graduating from Calvert High School in 1957, he served four years in the United States Air Force.
Robert married his high school sweetheart Florence Evelyn (Miller) Chaney in 1958. After serving in the U.S.A.F. Robert attended Nashville Auto Diesel College and then worked for Mack Trucks, the United Parcel Service and retired from the Government Printing Office. He was a charter member of the Optimist Club of Calvert and enjoyed many years of community service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers James R. Chaney and Gilbert E. Chaney, and baby sister Brenda Chaney.
Robert is survived by his wife of 65 years and four children Connie D. Sebold (Michael), Cheryl D. Mansfield (Darryl), Cynthia D. Chaney (Don), and Robert L. Chaney, Jr. (Susan), five grandchildren Ashley Mansfield, Steven Mansfield (Nicole), Mason Chaney, Riley Chaney, and Nathan Chaney, as well as two stepgrandchildren Nick Newton and Nathan Newton.

John and I are so sorry to hear this. Our condolences to the family. Always enjoyed the Optimist events , Bobby was always a joker and a Wonderful person. He loved working with the children, he will be missed greatly.
