Robert Louis “Bob” Cope, 70, of Solomons, MD passed away on November 26, 2016 at Future Care Pineview in Clinton, MD.

Born February 10, 1946 in Collinsville, PA, he was the son of the late Louis Cope and Lois (Grimes) Cope.

Bob served in the U.S. Army for twenty one years, 1968 until 1989. He served two tours in Vietnam, earning the Bronze Star. He was an editor for the International Broadcasting Bureau Voice of America for twenty three years. Bob married his wife Jo Ann in Chesapeake Beach, MD on September 29, 2007. He enjoyed listening to books on his IPod, walking the dogs, and watching movies.

Bob is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Cope of Solomons, MD; his children, James Dequis (Michelle) of Tacoma, WA, and Bobbi Cope of Tacoma, WA; step-daughters, Susan Bentley (Jason) of Lusby, MD, and Karen Gola (Brian) of Brooklyn Park, MD; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Francello, Gaje Dequis, Bradley Moreland, Emily Reed, Reagan Bentley, William Gola and Katie Gola; and siblings, Daniel Clayton Cope (Yvonne) of LePuente, CA and Linda Cope Ricke (Rodney) of Marietta, GA.

Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be determined.
