Paul Jerome Stallings
October 21, 1934- January 28, 2021

Paul Jerome Stallings, 86, of Friendship passed away January 28, 2021 surrounded by his family. Jerome was born October 21, 1934 to Hamilton Crosby and Myrtle Elizabeth (Bowen) Stallings. He was raised in Calvert County and lived in Huntingtown and Deep Landing and growing up worked on both Wilson and Prout Farms. Jerome married the love of his life Sarah Wood on June 25, 1960 and they lived in Shady Side before moving to Friendship. He was employed as a supervisor for Giant Construction and also operated Family Grocery, with his wife Sarah, in Friendship during the 1980’s. For many years, Jerome also raised tobacco with his father in law, Boozie Wood. He was a lifelong member of Friendship United Methodist Church and was also a member of Three Rivers Gun Club and the Carpenter’s Union. He enjoyed trap shooting and playing softball, going to the Elk Lodge and “coaching” horseshoes, and racing his 1957 Chevrolet.
Jerome was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah and siblings Hamilton “Hoppy”, Oscar and William “Billy” Stallings and Delores Clark and three nephews. He is survived by daughters Leisha E. Cranford and husband Ronni, Paula S. Curtin and son James H. “Jamie” Stallings, all of Friendship. Also surviving are grandchildren Stacey Chafin (Shane), Sonny “JR” Swann (Amanda), Max Curtin and Renee Cranford, great-grandchildren Teagan Stowers and Adalynne and Hudson Swann, and brothers Raymond (Carol) and Carl Stallings.
The services for Jerome will be private and by invitation only. The service will be livestreamed on the Rausch Funeral Home Facebook page on Thursday February 4, starting at 10:55 AM and can be accessed by using the following link https://www.facebook.com/RauschFH/. The service will begin at 11:00 AM. There will be a public graveside service to follow at Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery.
