Dearest Barber Family and loving friends and family.
I am sorry for your loss and this difficult time in all your lives. I have experienced this myself years ago
Reflect on the lessons, joy, laughter and memories she filled all your lives with, knowing shr lived a long and full life.
She is now at eternal rest and watching over you all forever. God Bless.
My heart and prayers are yours.
Love,
Jeanette Lee (Barber) White
(Youngest daughter of Homer and half sister to Patti’s children)
She was so important in my life. Her wit and humor sustained me many times. Her brilliance made me want to be “smarter” as a child. Many times she was the first person I would call when something good happened as I wanted her to be proud of me. I am certain she traveled over the Mikisha Mountains on her journey to the Promised Place. Love you Auntie. The world is already a little less bright now that you have gone home, but it was a great deal brighter because you were here. A life well-lived and shared.
Our heartfelt condolences to her beautiful family. She was surrounded by your love her entire life. She was a truly amazing Renaissance woman. Aunt Pat taught us all the love of music – she pulled out her guitar and had us singing at every family gathering – and there were many! My favorites were Old Stewball and 500 Miles. I remember her patience in teaching the guitar to anyone who had an interest. We all loved hearing the 3 sisters and their only brother singing. I know my Dad and Aunt Pat are serenading the angels with ‘Danny Boy’. One of my fondest memories is the Nativity play she orchestrated at the house in Osborn Subdivision. She had the whole neighborhood involved and the prime role was the angel perched on top of the piano. Ann, Rick and I were reminiscing about that last week. The world was a more beautiful place because she was here and she left a legacy of love with her amazing children. God bless and I love you all.
I recall all of this, Jan, especially singing at all the family gatherings — quite fond of those memories!! Think you did a typo there, though… there were, of course, four sisters and one brother (Pat, Diane, Carolyn, Susan, and Tim). One thing about those family gatherings and their singing: they could not see each other for 30 minutes or 10 years (or longer), but they could always be in that sibling 5 harmony groove in less time than it took them to sing one song. I always marveled at that. Nothing like that harmony – and it always made me quite comfortable and thankful in so many ways!!! May our dear Aunt Pat rest in peace now, and sing happily with her brother!!! Love, Mike
First and far most I send so much love and continued prayers to what I was told by her to my extended family. Patricia was so so special to me. From the first day we meet I told her as I squatted down to look at her thank you for coming here to show so much love and joy. Those tiny lil eyes looked right up at me as she reached out with both hands and she smiled and nodded her head. That was the day we became two peas in a pod. She let everyone know she was the Queen of yodeling and she didn’t mind you joining in to put on a great show. She played her guitar in the beginning and oh boy she sung like a sweet bird as she soothed the entire atmosphere. It became a favorite for her to gather her new friends and sing sweet songs as they got ready for bed one by one. As days continued we had daily chats and a ton of laughs with each other as we did multiple activities in groups and played music in the atmosphere because then we shared we both had a love for music. She was everybody’s favorite. But she was my friend Pattie Pooder. Every morning she looked for me and I looked for her and we greeted each other with thee biggest smile and we either busted out singing a song. And ohhh did we harmonize like a million dollars. Or she cracked a joke just to make my dimples come out as I laughed and she’d say. Hey kiddo bend down and stick her lil fingers in my cheek and throw her head back and laugh. She even gave me great talks of encouragement about telling me I was a strong and great mom when she talked about her children and I shared about mine. I could go on and on about the wonderful moments we had with her. I want to say personally Thank You to her children whom know I’m so very thankful you let me get to know your momma and care for her. You are thee most beautiful, amazing, gifted, soft spoken, loving, always kind and giving bunch I ever met. A true example of how a mother is loved you showed daily. May many wonderful memories continue to warm your hearts in remembrance of your precious momma. Your all precious reflections of a Great Women.
