Patricia (Pat) J Jarboe of Lusby, Maryland passed away August 4th, 2026 at Calvert Health Hospital. Pat Jarboe grew up in Onancock, Virginia and moved to Washington D.C, where she met her husband Harvey T. Jarboe (deceased). She then moved to Lusby, Maryland around 1977 with her husband Harvey Jarboe and their two children Nathan Wilson and Dwayne Jarboe (deceased).
She is preceded in death by her father George Coulbourne (Coby) Custis, husband Harvey T. Jarboe, and son Dwayne T. Jarboe. She is survived by her mother Eunice S. Custis, her son Nathan M. Wilson (Beverly), and her daughter Karen E. Jarboe (Mike). As well as her grandchildren Coby Wilson, Flint Wilson, and Elara Hertzog.
After moving to Lusby, Pat worked at the Chesapeake Ranch Club office and the Calvert County Board of Education. After that she worked as a principalβs secretary at Mutual Elementary School and Southern Middle School. She retired July 1st, 2009 having worked for 31 years. She made many friends during her years of public service and had many stories of her time working for Calvert County Public Schools. Pat also was a great sales person, having sold both Cooking the American Way products and Sildapada jewelry.
Outside of work, Pat and her husband Harvey were a part of the FEGOFS (Friday Evening Gather of Friends). Each couple would host a monthly dinner, followed by entertainment. Themes included Christmas parties, Halloween parties, beach parties, in character murder mysteries, talent shows, and even theater productions. Their friendships lasted many many years, even after the parties stopped.
Pat also enjoyed crocheting and was a part of the Flying Needles. The flying needles met weekly and shared tips and tricks with those who knit or crochet. My mom developed strong friendships and benefitted from the camaraderie of the group.
Cooking and family food gatherings were also a big part of Patβs life. She enjoyed baking cookies with her grandchildren and hosting Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter dinners for family. She also enjoyed picking and eating blue crabs, a tradition she carried over from her family on the eastern shore of Virginia.
Pat will be remembered as a loving mother, a faithful friend, and devoted public servant.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 2 pm – 4 pm at the Rausch Funeral Home, 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD. A graveside service will be held at Mt. Holly Cemetery, Onancock, VAΒ on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 11 am with Rev. Steven Miller officiating.

Condolences to her family. She was our secretary at Mutual Elementary. She was always fixed up so pretty. She was very helpful with the students. Pretty sure some of us got on her nerves. RIP MS. Jarboe ππΎππΎππΎππΎ

August 11 – Obituary: Patricia Jane (Custis) Jarboe
To the Jarboe Family…
My sincere condolences for a life well lived. I worked with Pat for many years at Mutual Elementary School. We had many laughs and shared recipes and stories about our children. The shooting at MES was a significant experience that neither one of us ever forgot. From that point on, we were cemented in friendship. God bless the family. I am so glad that I was a friend of Pat.
