Patricia Inez Wilson, 82, of LaPlata passed away peacefully after a long illness on April 6th, 2022. Pat was born at Garfield Memorial Hospital in Washington DC on June 28th, 1939 to Dorothy I Hayden (Shearer) and Richard Thomas Hayden. Pat lived and went to school in Prince Georges County graduating from Bladensburg High School in 1957. Pat met and married her husband, Edward Raymond Wilson “Eddie” in 1957 and they set out to raise a family first living in Lanham, Md and then settled in Chesapeake Beach, Md.
Pat worked for 30 years and retired in 2002 from Prince George’s Community College.
Pat and Eddie shared a love for antique automobiles. Eddie and his son Tommy restored a 1933 White Gulf Oil Company Truck and a 1936 International Telephone Company Truck. Pat, Eddie and Tommy would show the two trucks in Car and Truck Shows and won many place holder trophies and Best of Show. They were members of the National Capital Region Antique Automobile Club of America. Pat also participated twice in the Great American Race.
Pat moved to LaPlata, Md in 2002, where she adjusted quickly to her new surroundings finding a special connection to the Clark Senior Center of LaPlata and the Northern Center of St. Mary’s County. Pat danced with Tapper & Cloggers, Good Time Gals, St. Mary’s Rockin Red Hatters and Sassy & Brassy Hip-Hoppers just to name a few. Pat loved to scrapbook, garden, had a great love of travel and had visited all 50 states, she loved our National Parks. Pat love to attend a tea party with her friends, and she loved to dance. Pat had a great love for our Chesapeake Bay and its lighthouses.
Pat held her friends close to her heart and was very fortunate in her life to be blessed with her dear loving friends Joan, Barbara, Norma Jean, Fran, Ruthie and Wally just to name a few. Her family is thankful for each of her friendships throughout her life that enriched, gave hope, meaning and joy to her.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Pat is survived by her two sons Joseph Michael Wilson “Joe” and his partner Wanda Martin, Raymond Thomas Wilson “Tommy” and wife Susi Quinn
In lieu of flowers her sons ask that donations be made in her memory to Chesapeake Life Center, Hospice of Charles County located at 2505 Davis Road in Waldorf Maryland 20603. The help they provided cannot be measured.

Pat was my husband Mike’s “one of two” Hayden cousins. I would consider her my “cousin-in-love” as this was one of Pat’s strong attributes. She also had an amazing positive attitude about life in general and she truly lived it to the fullest. Pat was honest to the bone and always said what she thought. Pat had a generous spirit and enjoyed treating family and friends to her good cooking and hospitality at her holiday parties. We know that Joe and Tommy and their families will miss her greatly. May our Heavenly Father give you comfort and peace and thankfulness for all the years you had together.

My office excelled due to the clerical and public relations skills of Pat. The total college knew Pat, and she was unsurpassed in dealing fairly with faculty, students, administrators, and the general public. I have never had a more devoted person, such as Pat, who made our administrative office known throughout the college, and the general public. Our friendship was eternal, until I was informed that she had passed. May her soul rest in peace, and best wishes to her family, and life-long friends.
