Patricia H. Mann
October 11, 1943 – November 24, 2023
Patricia H. Mann, 80, of St. Leonard, MD passed away on November 24, 2023 in St. Leonard, MD. Preceded in death by her mother and father, sister, Sharon E. Mann, nieces, Cheryl Wolfe and Abigail McGraw Fleming. She is survived by her sister Maureen Reedy, brother, Daniel Mann, sister in law, Lynn Crook, numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Turbo.
Born in Washington, D.C. on October 11, 1943 and raised in Takoma Park. M.D. Pats attended Regina High School before attending Holy Name of Jesus Hospital School of Nursing. And finished her education with a P.H.D from the University of Maryland. After serving two tours of duty as a nurse in Vietnam, she was honorably discharged with rank of Captain. She then was a Professor in Health Education at the University of MD. Pats owned and operated a private bariatrics business as well. She worked as a nutrition coach for the Washington Capitals and Baltimore Skipjacks. Patsy loved to bring family and friends to the games to support the teams. “Drink your water!” She finished her career with NITP, where she provided workshops on health, wellness, nutrition, and stress reduction for multiple government agencies. Pat was very active in the All Saints Episcopal Parish in Sunderland, MD. She created a family with her friends from her church groups. She was a hospice volunteer and as an avid gardener and birder, Pat lovingly maintained the church’s labyrinth. She filled her life with the love for her friends, family, books, plants, wine, rescue dogs, hockey, baseball, and it goes without saying, but she loved her shopping. Whether you knew her as Patricia, Patsy, Pats, or Pat, her absence will be noticed and she will be greatly missed.
Special thanks for the care provided by Michelle Bartlett and others in the last year of her life, which enabled Pat to stay in her beautiful home that she created with the love of her life, Turbo, until her death.

I liked to call her Dr. Mann. We met in graduate school and enjoyed each others company from day one. I was so proud of her service and made sure we caught up with each other on Memorial and Veterans Day at a minimum. My friends went crazy when she showed up at my last MASH party wearing her uniform. And yes she could still fit in it!!! She was passionate about her family, good health and nutrition. I could always count on her to get the most recent information without judgement or alternative facts. I am going to miss you old friend, your opinion mattered to me. You will always have a piece of my heart, love MEF
My Aunt Pats was so fun to be with. She was very funny, witty, loving, caring , giving, engaging , knowledgeable, generous and much more.
She taught me how to “ drive” at age 7 or 8 by sitting on her lap as she worked the clutch, shifted gears, gas, brakes and I steered her small red Mazda in a empty parking lot. I had the time of my life, to say the least, and remember so many other great times and family get togethers.
I was always so proud of her 2 years Army service in Vietnam and was ready to brag about her to anyone who would listen.
She was one of a kind and I will miss her until we meet again at the big empty parking lot in Heaven.🙂
