Patricia Dawn “Pat” Brown

Patricia Dawn “Pat” Brown, 91, of Deale passed away September 20, 2022. She was born March 17, 1931, in Brookside, OH to William Kenneth and Clara Allison (Guy) Myers. Pat spent her early years in Ohio and later moved to Washington, DC where she graduated from Anacostia High School. She married William Ernest “Ernie” Brown on November 3, 1950, and they lived in DC, College Park, and Beltsville before moving to Deale in 1980. Pat was employed as a secretary for the Federal Government and later worked as a seamstress with her daughter Cathie. Pat was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church in Huntingtown, where she started The Lunch Bunch Bible Study. She was also a member of the Optimist Club of Calvert County. Pat loved to travel and camp with her husband; she drove her RV from Maryland to California, stopping at many wonderful places along the way. Pat was an avid Washington Nationals and college basketball fan, especially the UNC Tar Heels and Maryland Terps. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crabbing, her dogs, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Ernie Brown, daughter Terry McCormick, and sister Joanne Margaret Myers. She is survived by her children Cathie L. Behneman of Baltimore and Kenneth A. “Kenny” Brown and his wife Cindie of Tracy’s Landing. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ryan and Dana Behneman, Cara Feldman, Colleen Gibson, Megan Buker, Brooke McCormick, Emily Phipps, Sarah Brown, and Andrew Brown, and great-grandchildren Alexandria, Allison, Emmaley, Hailee, Logan, Paxton, and Maureen.
