Noel Albert Sampson, Jr.

  • Sunday, March 16, 1947 - Wednesday, September 17, 2025

Noel Albert Sampson, Jr passed away unexpectedly on September 17, 2025, at the age of 78.  Noel was born on March 16, 1947, in Burlington, NJ to Noel II and Jayne Sampson.  Noel grew up in New Jersey and attended college at Arkansas College (now Lyon College) where he played basketball.  After college he entered the world of commercial real estate where he built many long-lasting relationships in both Maryland and Florida.  Noel loved coaching his children’s sports team and he was often seen roaming the sidelines – clipboard in hand.  His other love was the game of golf – a love he shared with his children (and now grandchildren).

Noel leaves behind his four children, Noel IV, Kelly (Joseph), Walter (Nicole) and Deborah (Jon); two grandchildren, Hannah and Ethan; brother, David (Ann Marie); and a wide circle of family and friends (especially Janet) that will carry on his love and laughter.  Noel was preceded in death by his parents, Noel II and Jayne, as well as daughter-in-law, Deanna.

A celebration of life is currently being planned, and details will be provided once available.  In lieu of flowers – we request a donation be made to the Burlington County (NJ) Animal Shelter https://friendsofbcas.org/

October 2 – Obituary: Noel Albert Sampson, Jr.

Dear Sampsons,

We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Noel. Your father was beloved by many of his friends for his “bigger than life” personality. He was the leader of a large golf outing-Turf Club of Southern Maryland, that had a wide variety of members. The “house mother” will be missed by all of those belonging to that organization. Please except our deepest sympathy and our prayers of comfort during this difficult time.

September 29 – Obituary: Noel Albert Sampson, Jr.

To Noel’s children, You don’t know me from Adam, but your Dad and I have known each other since we were young teenagers. It started out that we went to church together. Then Noel started coming over to my house where we would sit and listen to Bill Cosby records. ( the good old days!) Some times I would go to his house where we would play pool in the basement. We went “together” our freshman year. People called us Mutt and Jeff as I was 5′ 2 and your Dad was 6’2. After High School we would hang out and just enjoy each others company. We ended up going our separate ways. Me always remembering your Dad and hoping he was happy. Sounds like he was, and ended up with four wonderful children. About twenty years ago out of the blue your Dad called me. Since then we have kept in touch and actually got to see each other a couple of times. I will miss him so. He would talk about all of you-he was so proud. I want you to know from day one your father was the best ever!!! Most of all he was always a gentleman. Noel will be in my heart forever. I send to you prayers and God’s comfort. May you cherish all your memories always.  Candie
