July 15 – Obituary: Nathan Bailey Swan
I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Nathan. I met him during his deployment here in Bahrain, and we became very close friends. He was such a sweet, goofy guy, and we always laughed at the silliest little things. We stayed in touch even after he left, and I always tried to be there to check on him and understand him when life got tough. There are so many beautiful moments we shared that I will always hold close. I’ll never forget the fun nights we would go out, get a bit tipsy, and randomly make friends with total strangers. Nathan had such a supportive heart. When I join a local frisbee group, he is one of those people who pushed me and encouraged me to do it. Through him, I also got to know some of his friends back home on Discord, and we all shared great times playing games together.
I will cherish all of these wonderful memories forever. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Rest in peace, Nathan.

I met Nathan on Bonhomme Richard (LHD6) and served alongside him on the security team for a couple years. He always knew how to brighten you up at work and outside. This one really hits hard since I shared a lot of memories with him outside work. He knew how to brighten up the mood and he was a good brother. He will be missed a ton. My Condolences to the family and friends. Rest in Peace Nathan.
