Michael Joseph “Spanky” Comer, Sr., 56, of Leonardtown, MD passed away on January 20, 2015 at his residence.

Born May 15, 1958 in Cheverly, MD, he was the son of the late Marshall Eugene Comer and Joyce Ann (Carroll) Comer. Michael was an auto body technician for over eighteen years, working for Calvert Body Works.

Michael is survived by his wife, Waunitta Jean Comer; his children, Michael J. Comer, Jr. of Lusby, MD, and Eric Goldstein of Swansboro, NC; three grandchildren; and his siblings, Brenda Lee Thorne of Lexington Park, MD and Dora Ann Comer of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

The Comer family would like to send out a very special thank you to the Fowler family; Donnie, Stephanie, Brent and Crystal, owners of Calvert Body Works. We want everyone to know that they are an example of what true friends and extended family mean. Their gift helped more than anything and they will always be a part of our family. People are defined by their actions, and their actions should be followed by us all with their act of kindness.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date.
