Michael J. Funchion “Mike”, age 63, of Prince Frederick, MD passed away suddenly on May 18, 2013 at Calvert Memorial Hospital, Prince Frederick, MD. He was born on February 6, 1950 in Dundee, MI to the late Fred Funchion and Rosemary Dinsmore Funchion. He was the loving husband to Kathleen Funchion whom he married on September 25, 1971 in Tecumseh, MI.
Mike graduated from Dundee High School, Dundee, MI in 1968 and went on to serve his country in the US Army for two years from July 1969 to February 1971 during the Vietnam War. He and his family relocated from Dundee, MI to Calvert County in 1983 where he worked as a Building Engineer for Heffron-Farragut Center in Washington, DC for over ten years.
He is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen Funchion of Prince Frederick, MD; his devoted sons, Jerry Funchion and Rick and his wife Adrienne Funchion both of MD; siblings, John Robert Funchion of MD, Joyce Lenz of OH, Mary Slagle, Barbara Post, Tim Funchion, Cindy Funchion and Debbie Funchion all of MI, and three loving grandchildren.
