My deepest sympathies to Mike’s family, friends, and coworkers. He will be deeply missed, and I’ll certainly miss him giving me a shout out when he saw me at work from his glances up in the mirror in his office where he “kept an eye” on the world.
Conveying my condolences for Mike’s family. Many of us will miss his presence around the office. I will also remember now, more meaningfully, of how he took the time giving me advice, or opinions whenever I dropped by his office, at random times, asking questions about work or any other topic at hand.
Loved you Mikey, I loved how with you New York accent you said coffee and put an “r” at the end of many a word where it didn’t belong. I loved how you loved your step kids and any of your friends (family) kids as much as your two boys. I will miss you, your smile and your easy laugh. I will never forget you coming home after a hockey game and having to use chicklets for your two front teeth until you could get to the dentist… classic Mark and Mike…
You were one of a kind, Mike. For over thirty years you were my best friend, confidant, shipmate and the most caring person I’ve ever known. You are and always will be missed and will forever be my brother. A piece of Donna and My life is missing with your loss.
Drink a cold brew for me and keep the beer cold for when we meet again budro.
I met Mike 15 years ago during my job, what a Great guy to know. Mike would go out of his way to help me and was such a kind person! I enjoyed talking to him when I passed him in the halls at work. Sending my deepest condolences to the Edington Family and all who knew him! R.I.P. Mike Edington!!
All of us who were fortunate to know Mike and call him friend will forever have a small hole in our hearts with his passing. His generosity and sense of humor will never be forgotten and we will always treasure the memories of the great times we shared snowmobiling in Maine. Rest in peace bud.
My Friend, going to miss you Mike, I’m going to remember all the great times we spent together on and off the golf course. Like they say about deals made on the course, the deal we made was Friendship, Rest in Heavenly Peace.
The Draw AKA David Thompson.
Sincere condolences to all Mike’s family and other friends.
You were a ‘brother from another mother’. Always such great company, funny, thoughtful, generous and a true patriot.
We had such great memories on and off the golf course and it was so great you could visit me in Scotland too for the 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles.
Check in to that lush golf course above. No wait times, no bogeys just lush greens and wide fairways and always a cold beer waiting at the 19th.
Rest easy brother, you left a wonderful legacy.
Mike, in those few short years that we worked together at Pax River, it was clear that you were that special person who could handle the most difficult of jobs to the benefit of all your teammates. We appreciated your accomplishments then and grieve for your loss now.
Deepest Sympathies to the Edington family.
I met you the first time in Nairn Scotland to play a friendly Ryder Cup against two other friends. I brought with me from Chicago two jackets emblazoned with the American flag and we played golf in Nairn and the famous Castle Stewart course. During that time, we had a chance to talk about our families, loved ones and life.
The sum total of getting to know you amounted to just a few days. But during that time a friendship was born and it would be the last time I saw you. We kept in touch via e mail on occasion and it was just a few days ago that Neil informed me of your battle with cancer whilst we had breakfast together here in Florida.
We had plans to get together with you in November and I was looking forward so very much to see you again. Rest easy Mike and hope an angel is helping you pick your favorite fruit…wild Strawberries!!
Edington Family,
Kim and I were so sorry to hear that Mike passed away. He was an amazing and wonderful person. Alway the consummate, passionate team player. He truly loved the Navy and his job. We’ve lost a national asset. Please accept our deepest sympathy.

My sincerest condolences to all of Mike’s loved ones. This is a great loss. Having lost a son myself, I’m particularly empathetic towards the heartache of Mike’s mom. Those of us who had the privilege of working alongside Mike have taken a hit also. He was very special to us.
