Virginia opened her home to me and my daughter after Hurricane Isabel left us homeless! I will always remember that time. She had these steep stairs to the second floor and when I commented on their steepness, she said “If a couple of nuns can do it, so can you!” (She used to have them as visitors occasionally.) absolutely a lovely lady with a marvelous sense of humor!!
Kathy & family,
So sorry for your loss. She was a lovely lady & her & my Mom became friends from different functions
they attended.
I know you will miss her but remember the wonderful memories.
She is in God’s arms now.
God Bless
My Grandaddy Bill Kleinhen walked me down to Virginia McGoverns home for many visits when I was a little girl. We enjoyed afternoons of great conversation, crocheting, and of course sweet treats. She was indeed an grandmother to many! Fond memories. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.
Grandma V always found the time to visit with my parents. It gave us great comfort to know that Virginia would check on my parents and reminisce about the good old days. Virginia was the one of the most giving and caring persons we have ever known. And when the community had a bake sale auction, we would always buy her pound cake, no matter what the price was. We have many fond memories of Virginia spending quality time with Fay and I and our children Our deepest sympathy to her family and friends.
Kathy and family,
So sorry to hear of Virginia’s passing. Barbara enjoyed being with her on Wednesday’s when she helped making Linus blankets. I so enjoyed talking with her at church and when I occasionally had lunch with her and the sewing group. She will most certainly be missed and remembered affectionately.
Best regards,

Dear Kathy and family,
I have wonderful memories of your Mother and family. My parents were best friends with Virginia and Jack so our families spent a lot of time together when we we young. Once your parents bought the house next door to my grandparents I really got even closer to your mom and remember your grandma being there all the time.
Your mom loved her home and beach family. I’m sure she loved that you lived next to her!
I know how much you all will miss her but she’ll be welcomed to heaven by Jack and children and her best friends again! Love to you and family.
Sorry I’m not traveling right now due to recent surgery.
Love, Sharon Maloney Godlewski

Virginia always put up with me. She gave me cookies.

Grandma V will be missed by our family. She was the “best baker” ever and many were fed her specialty…cookies. She was Grandma to many….
